While raising money for Liquid Computing, I had the opportunity to pitch to General Minihan (ex-Director of the NSA) when he was at Paladin Capital Group. One of our team, Tom Kreidler, knew General Minihan from when Tom worked with Sun Microsystems as VP of Federal Sales.
While engaged with Paladin, my team and I had several meetings with the General and other members of Paladin. A particularly memorable meeting was when the General hosted me and a few of Liquid Computing’s investors for lunch at the Georgetown Club.
During the course of our meetings, General Minihan shared a few entertaining stories, including one recounting his experience with the first secure encrypted cell phone. I found the cell phone story particularly entertaining and interesting given my past experience with cellular product development at Nortel.
Unfortunately Paladin decided not to invest in Liquid Computing, however General Minihan was a very impressive individual – I enjoyed the discussions with him and was very happy to have had the opportunity to meet him.
